How Distillation Vessel works:
Distillation is the process of separating components or substances from a liquid mixture by selective evaporation and condensation. Distillation may result in essentially complete separation (nearly pure components) or it may be a partial separation that increases the concentration of selected components of the mixture. In either case, the process exploits differences in the volatility of the mixture’s components.
Idealized distillation model:
The boiling point of a liquid is the temperature at which the vapour pressure of the liquid equals the pressure around the liquid, enabling bubbles to form without being crushed. A special case is the normal boiling point, where the vapour pressure of the liquid equals the ambient atmospheric pressure.
